The Preservation Hall Jazz Band travels worldwide spreading their mission to nurture and perpetuate the art form of New Orleans Jazz. Formed by Allan and Sandra Jaffe in 1961, Preservation Hall Jazz Band was borne out of the rich New Orleans millieu that was to give the world Jazz music. Its founding members played with the likes of Jelly-Roll Morton,  Louis Armstrong, Buddy Bolden & Sweet Emma Barrett---legends that instilled in the group a committment to New Orleans roots music that still shines through today. 2011 is the 50th Anniversary of the incomparable Preservation Hall Jazz Band and they will be setting the tone for Soul'd Out Music Festival 2011, playing the opening night kick-off at The Crystal Ballroom with special guests.
